About the speakers

• Manuel Rybach is the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at EFG International, based in Zurich, in charge of Public Policy, Corporate Sustainability and the bank’s Corporate Office. He reports directly to the CEO. In addition, Manuel serves as Managing Director of the Association of Swiss Asset and Wealth Management Banks (VAV).
  
  Previously, Manuel was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse. Throughout his 23-year tenure at Credit Suisse, he served in several leadership roles, including as Global Head of Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs, Head of Corporate Citizenship and of International Relations in the Chairman’s Office and Managing Director of the Credit Suisse Foundation. He was also Head of Public Policy APAC and Chief of Staff to the CEO APAC, based in Hong Kong, led the bank’s global Sustainability Affairs team and managed the Credit Suisse Research Institute. He has also worked on public policy issues in Singapore and Washington, D.C. and managed the bank’s Strategic Partnership with the World Economic Forum (WEF).
  
  Manuel serves on the Boards or Advisory Boards of American Swiss Foundation (ASF), Asia Society Switzerland, Schweizerisches Institut für Auslandforschung (SIAF) and Swisscontact. He also served on the Board of Swiss Sustainable Finance (SSF) and was a member of the WEF Global Future Councils on (Long-term) Investing as well as on the Humanitarian System and of the WEF’s Steering Committee on Promoting Global Financial Inclusion.
  
  He was a Swiss National Science Foundation scholarship recipient and a Visiting Scholar at both Columbia University Law School and Georgetown University Law Center. Manuel also completed an Executive Program at the Harvard Kennedy School and studied at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po).
  
  Manuel holds a doctorate degree (Dr. rer. publ. HSG) from the University of St. Gallen (HSG), where he is a Lecturer on Public Affairs, and was a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at the University of Hong Kong (HKU).

• Melanie Beyeler is a Senior Portfolio Manager at EFG, having joined EFGAM Switzerland in August 2017, and is responsible for the Climate Transition strategy. Previously she held a variety of roles at Credit Suisse including equity institutional sales and client portfolio manager.
  
  Melanie holds a Masters HSG in Banking and Finance from the University of St. Gallen and was awarded the CFA UK Certificate in Climate and Investing. In addition, she has successfully completed the “Sustainable Finance” program at the University of Cambridge and the “Business Sustainability Strategy” program at MIT Sloan School of Management.
  
• May, Hoi Mei Chan, is an Executive MBA candidate at Cambridge and member of King’s College, currently serving as a manager in Ernst and Young wealth and asset management assurance. She has over 8 years of experiences in the sector and led the delivery of a wide range of banking and financial services assurance engagement across London, Hong Kong and China.
