Nanna Saito Nielsen, an MBA 2011 student at Cambridge Judge Business School has won an award of £1,000 for a paper entitled ‘A Market and Gap Analysis for New Charitable Social Investments.’
Nanna’s submission for the 2012 Worshipful Company of Marketors Awards on socially responsible investment funds impressed the awards committee. The paper was completed for her internship with Bridges Ventures, a social investment firm with the aim to achieve dedicated social and environmental goals as well as achieve financial returns for investors
The award was presented to Nanna during the Company’s annual Bowden Charter Dinner on 24 October in London. Guest speakers for the evening included Viscount Younger of Leckie, Junior Business Minister and Dr Gillian Tett, Assistant Editor of the Financial Times.
After collecting her award Nanna said:
I am very happy to have received this award and find it really positive that the field of marketing is showing an interest in social investment. With ongoing austerity measures affecting public spending and charities finding it more difficult to fundraise, social investments is becoming an increasingly important way to support the third sector. For UK charities social investment potentially presents an opportunity for a unique selling proposition towards their donors.”

This is the second consecutive win for the School. In 2012 CJBS nominated Elena Ion (MBA 2010) for her work on the Pharma industry and she was awarded the prize.
