Building a smarter and more connected world is a widespread goal, so the first Venture Creation Weekend being hosted 20-22 November by the Accelerate Cambridge programme at Cambridge Judge Business School revolves around the Internet of Things and Smart Cities.

The Weekend is a 54-hour event that allows people to innovate and develop products and services that better connect cities, to think creatively about improving their environment, and to pitch their ideas to a panel of experts in the field. Mentors will be available to help participants throughout the weekend.

Judges include Jack Lang, vice chairman of the Raspberry Pi Foundation, which makes ultra low-cost computers for education, and Dan Clarke, Digital Programme Manager of the Smart Cambridgeshire programme.

Sponsors of the Weekend include Cambridge Wireless, Castrol InnoVentures and M2M (Machine 2 Machine) Magazine. “We are really excited to be partnering with CJBS during the IoT and Smart Cities Venture Creation,” says Abhi Naha, Head of Marketing & Business Development at Cambridge Wireless. “Imparting practical insights for development, channel deployment and scale up will hopefully add value during our mentoring and judging contributions.”
