Slate2Learn, an education venture for developing countries that was supported by Cambridge Social Ventures, wins second prize in the Cambridge Enterprise postdoc competition.

Slate2Learn

Slate2Learn, a venture that uses tablet computers for personal tutoring of children in developing countries, won the second prize of £10,000 investment in the Cambridge Enterprise Postdoc Business Plan Competition.

Slate2Learn was supported by the Cambridge Social Ventures programme at the Cambridge Centre for Social Innovation at Cambridge Judge.

Akshay Rao, co-founder of Slate2Learn, was one of six finalists to pitch to the judges at the competition held 2 November at Peterhouse, Cambridge. He said the second-place award and prize money “gives us a tremendous boost and will help take Slate2Learn to the next level.”

The competition is run by Cambridge Enterprise and the Entrepreneurial Postdocs of Cambridge.
