Research into extremes co-authored by Professor Mark de Rond of Cambridge Judge Business School wins Academy of Management Annals 2018 Best Paper Award.
A research paper co-authored by Professor Mark de Rond of Cambridge Judge Business School on research into extremes was named winner of the Academy of Management Annals 2018 Best Paper Award. The award ceremony was held on 12 August at the Academy of Management annual conference in Boston.
The winning paper draws on 138 articles published in
top-tier journals between 1980 and 2015, aiming to resolve some of the “fragmentation”
of organisation scholarship by sharpening definitions.
More specifically, the paper helps differentiate research into risky contexts, emergency contexts,
and disrupted contexts, with an aim for the various types of
studies “to speak to each other and to outline ways to enhance the
cumulative potential of extreme context research.”
