Anastasija Loncarevic

MPhil Finance alumnus

"Studying at the Business School has genuinely been a dream come true. Being part of the wider Cambridge community adds an entirely different dimension to the experience. Through my College, I’ve had the chance to connect with people across so many disciplines, which has been both inspiring and eye-opening. The programme itself exceeded all expectations: I discovered a research area I’m passionate about, learned from brilliant and supportive professors, and became part of a community that truly values curiosity and collaboration. There’s a unique mix of future business leaders, entrepreneurs, and researchers at Cambridge Judge, which creates an environment where new ideas are constantly encouraged and shared."

Before joining the MPhil in Finance at Cambridge Judge, Anastasija completed a dual degree at the University of Belgrade, with academic direction from the London School of Economics and Political Science. After graduating, she worked for a year in Corporate Finance at KPMG Serbia and passed CFA Level 1. She joined the Business School in October 2024, and is now hoping to pursue a PhD in Accounting, with the aim of building a career in academia.

Jamie Richmond

MPhil Finance alumnus

"I chose the MPhil in Finance for its rare blend of rigorous quantitative training and real-world relevance. The programme challenged me both technically and intellectually, while offering invaluable opportunities to collaborate with world-class faculty whose mentorship shaped my research direction. What stood out most was the emphasis on applying theory to practice, whether through presenting to industry professionals or tackling real financial problems with analytical tools. The experience fundamentally changed how I approach complex problems and reinforced my drive to contribute meaningfully to the finance profession."

Before joining the MPhil in Finance programme at Cambridge Judge Business School, Jamie studied Economics and Mathematics at the University of St Andrews, where he was named on the Dean’s List for Academic Excellence and awarded the James A Stewart Prize for achieving the highest honours average in Economics. With a strong quantitative and analytical foundation, he developed a deep interest in financial modelling and market microstructure, which he explored further during his  time at Cambridge. After completing the MPhil, Jamie is joining Kolytics, a highly innovative fintech company focused on real-time investment research for the listed real estate sector, as an Equity Research Analyst.

Jinpeng Li

MPhil Finance alumnus

"My choice to attend the MPhil in Finance was driven by its unique amalgamation of rigorous, research-oriented academic curriculum and the opportunity for close engagement with the preeminent finance faculty. The curriculum’s modules have endowed me with a comprehensive and nuanced comprehension of finance, traversing a multitude of research domains along with the application of the associated empirical methodologies. Moreover, interactions with the faculty members have been exceptionally enlightening. The professors, who are not only experts in their respective fields but also remarkably approachable, have provided invaluable mentorship in shaping my research interests and academic trajectory."

Prior to joining the MPhil Finance cohort at Cambridge, Jinpeng was a distinguished graduate from University College London, where he studied mathematics with economics following his initial study in electronic and electrical engineering. During his bachelor’s, Jinpeng developed a solid quantitative foundation, and has published research in the field of applied mathematics while engaging in finance research and interning at various investment banks and asset management firms. Having ranked top in his MPhil Finance cohort, Jinpeng is now continuing his research and pursuing his PhD (Finance pathway) at Cambridge Judge Business School.

Athanasios Klimentidis

MPhil Finance alumnus

"Rigorous. Challenging. Transformative. These words capture the essence of a year at Cambridge Judge Business School and vindicate my choice to join the MPhil in Finance programme. The research-oriented curriculum, taught by world-class faculty, and breadth of topics covered helped me build solid methodological foundations. At the same time, seminars and workshops offered abundant opportunities to engage with leading researchers and explore cutting-edge topics in finance. As such, the programme not only provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the field but also prepared me for the next step of my academic journey: pursuing a PhD in Finance."

Prior to joining the MPhil in Finance programme at the University of Cambridge, Athanasios studied Economics and Finance at Athens University of Economics and Business and Florida International University, respectively, graduating top of his class at both institutions. It was during those studies that he developed a deep appreciation for how finance affects economic growth and ultimately, our collective wellbeing. Alongside his academic pursuits, Athanasios gained practical experience by working at a quantitative hedge fund and launching an amateur mutual fund to apply ideas acquired from my educational background. Following the completion of the MPhil in Finance, he is continuing his academic journey by pursuing a PhD in Finance at Cambridge Judge Business School.
