Meet our MPhil in Finance class

Every year, our cohort is made up of bright and diverse students from all parts of the world, with no part playing a dominant role. All have a First-Class degree from a well-recognised university and their discipline background ranges from economics, finance, and accounting, to engineering, physics and computer science.  

Class sizes vary from year to year but are typically 20-26. Depending on your course choices, you will share some of your classes with other students on the MPhil in Economics, Part III of the Maths Tripos, MPhil in Statistical Science or Master of Finance. 

The cultural and discipline diversity of the class create a stimulating, fast-paced learning environment, where students learn from each other and create friendships that last a lifetime.

Jinpeng Li

MPhil Finance alumnus

Prior to joining the MPhil Finance cohort at Cambridge, Jinpeng was a distinguished graduate from University College London, where he studied mathematics with economics following his initial study in electronic and electrical engineering. During his bachelor's, Jinpeng developed a solid quantitative foundation, and has published research in the field of applied mathematics while engaging in finance research and interning at various investment banks and asset management firms. Having ranked top in his MPhil Finance cohort, Jinpeng is now continuing his research and pursuing his PhD (Finance pathway) at Cambridge Judge Business School.
