BioScale builds AI co-scientists to automate and scale preclinical R&D. Our first product is the Virtual Protein Scientist, an AI agent powered by a domain-tuned LLM designed to provide end-to-end support for protein scientists. Equipped with deep, up-to-date domain knowledge, it works alongside scientists as a true co-pilot. It integrates with existing lab systems like ELNs and LIMS and augments the entire R&D workflow—from initial research and experiment design to converting raw experimental data into validated decisions and audit-ready documentation. By optimising each step of the workflow, we help research teams reduce costly experimental iterations and accelerate their path to valuable medicinal assets and Investigational New Drug (IND) submission.

I’m an AI researcher focused on multi-agent systems, currently collaborating with a research group at Tsinghua University. Previously, I spent seven years as an Applied Scientist at Amazon Alexa’s Text-to-Speech team, where I built large-scale speech synthesis technologies from the ground up. I hold an MSc in Speech and Language Processing from the University of Edinburgh, and I’m now applying my expertise in AI to co-found a biotechnology startup.
