Entrepreneurial network events and competitions

The Entrepreneurship Centre* is proud to be part of a diverse network of organisations encompassing student societies, incubation centres, science parks and entrepreneurial clubs in the Cambridge ecosystem and beyond which are involved in and support entrepreneurship and innovation. We encourage our students and delegates to take advantage of opportunities to develop their skills, networks and ventures by attending events and entering competitions. This page includes a listing of selected events and competitions offered by our entrepreneurial community and network.

Research Café event series

The West Hub, with the STEMM libraries in collaboration with Postdocs of Cambridge Society are pleased to invite you to our new Research Cafés held throughout the year. They will allow you to meet your peers outside of your immediate research group or discipline, to further understanding, collaboration, and engagement across the West Cambridge site in a relaxed environment.

Ways to present: As a presenter, you can showcase your research, interact with experts from different disciplines, and receive valuable feedback from the academic community. Prizes for Talk and Poster will be available and sponsored by Cambridge Enterprise and IE Cambridge

  • Lightning talks (5 mins in front of the room, covering the key points of your research.)
  • Poster (This would be A0 poster outlining important areas of your research).

The King’s College Entrepreneurship Prize 2024

 The annual King’s College Entrepreneurship Prize is now open for applications.

The Competition is open to all students, Fellows, College Research Associates and alumni of King’s College, University of Cambridge, irrespective of age.

Participants will compete for the first prize of up to £20,000, with the judges also able to make discretionary awards.

The submission deadline for entries is Monday 22 January 2024.

The Wolfson College Entrepreneurship Competition 2024

Wolfson College is delighted to announce the launch of the 2024 Wolfson Entrepreneurship Competition.

The competition is open to all startup teams or aspiring founders with at least one current University of Cambridge student or alumnus. 

The themes for this year’s competition are Climate Tech, Global Health and Women Founders.

An overall winner will receive £5,000, and the best entries in the Climate Tech, Global Health, and Female Founders categories will receive £2,500 each.

Business Weekly Awards

The annual Business Weekly Awards are open for nominations and entries until 30 June 2024.

We are delighted to be sponsoring the Cambridge Judge Graduate Business of the Year

The awards are an excellent opportunity to raise your profile or that of your business, highlight achievements and benefit from the associated publicity. Many of the companies that have won awards have gone on to receive further investment and honours.
