Professional history

Benjamin is an experienced CEO, with expertise in leading and scaling alternative investment companies, both organically and through M&A. He is passionate about creating inclusive, high-performance cultures.

He has 20+ years’ investment experience, with deep expertise in real estate, combined with alternative investment experience across private equity, venture capital, operational platforms and private debt.

He has led the creation and raising of multiple new alternative institutional funds, is an experienced Chair of Investment and Credit Committees, fund manager of institutional and retail funds and portfolio company director.

Benjamin was most recently CEO of Fund Management at Octopus Investments, a leading UK alternative fund manager with £10 billion FUM across institutional and retail funds across real estate, renewable energy, venture capital and sustainable infrastructure, and 750 staff. Octopus is a certified B Corporation, investing in the people, ideas and industries that will change the world.

He joined Octopus in 2010 and worked across multiple institutional and retail investment funds, including leading the Octopus Apollo VCT. He led the Octopus Healthcare, and then Octopus Real Estate teams for 6 years.

Prior to Octopus, Benjamin invested across a range of sectors at YFM Equity Partners and Interregnum, and previously worked in technology and consulting. He has an MBA from Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.

He serves on the Advisory Board of Cambridge Judge Business School.
