Professional history
Seow-Chien is a Senior Partner at Bain & Company and a member of Bain’s Global Board of Directors. Over her 30-year career with the firm, she has worked across Bain’s London, Boston, and Shanghai offices, and is now based in Singapore, where she leads Bain’s Asia-Pacific Banking Practice. Seow-Chien advises clients on strategy, business transformation enabled by AI and technology, operating model design and capability building to help organisations navigate change.
She is a member of Singapore’s Future Economy Advisory Panel, a senior advisory body that provides insights and advice to the Singapore Government on the country’s economic growth and transformation. She also serves on the Board of Directors of HTX (Home Team Science and Technology Agency), a government agency focused on developing advanced technologies to strengthen homeland security.
A World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, Seow-Chien received her MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School. She is a graduate of University of Cambridge, where she earned her MPhil in Finance (Distinction) and BA/MA in Economics.
Society and charity work
Seow-Chien founded Bain Southeast Asia’s Social Impact practice, providing pro-bono support to non-profit organisations on strategy, organisational effectiveness and leadership capability building. A strong advocate for gender diversity, she is a founding member of the Asia Pacific chapter of Stratos, a global network of senior women leaders in financial services, and leads Women@Bain in Southeast Asia.
