Cambridge and the 'Silicon Fen'

The Admissions Committee for the Diploma and the Masters aims to create a class of energetic, creative and proactive individuals with distinct entrepreneurial ambition and potential. One of the key advantages for students of these programmes within the Cambridge Judge Launchpad is the chance to access and exploit the rich resources of the University and Cambridge ecosystem to develop personal and business networks, innovations and ventures.

The area, which is known as the 'Silicon Fen', has evolved into one of the world's most enterprising networks of people and hi-tech cluster of companies, boasting a combined turnover in excess of £12 billion. The city is surrounded by science parks, innovation centres, incubators and accelerators, which are home to a mixture of start-ups, local high-tech businesses and UK subsidiaries of international companies such as Unilever, Microsoft and Philips. Business support and investment can be found via venture capitalist companies, business angels, and numerous informal and formal business networks for which innovation and growth are key on the agenda.

Enterprise ecosystem

A rich bank of additional resources, including seminars, networking events like Enterprise Tuesdays and groups such as the Cambridge University Entrepreneurs will help further immerse you into this diverse enterprise ecosystem. Cambridge Network, an external membership organisation bringing together people from business and academia, arranges a series of events where you’ll be able to meet other entrepreneurs and business angels, share ideas and foster collaboration and partnership for success.

Organisations and networking

The Cambridge Judge Business School Entrepreneurship Centre's network of over 300 entrepreneurs and experts can provide support for those from different industry sectors looking to develop social, creative and not-for-profit enterprises as well as technology-based enterprises.
