"We’re no longer asking for a seat — we’re building new tables.” That powerful sentiment from Dr Monica Wirz, Visiting Fellow at Cambridge Judge Business School, captured the spirit of a memorable event in London that reunited 4 top UK business schools to champion gender parity in Executive MBA (EMBA) programmes.

In 2013, Cambridge Judge commissioned Dr Monica Wirz to investigate why far fewer women applied to its Executive MBA programme. Her findings prompted targeted scholarships, policy changes, enhanced recruitment and teaching measures to support female candidates. 12 years on, the Business School is revisiting those original questions to assess progress and refine its approach to fostering gender equity in leadership.

During May Day 2025, an Executive MBA student and 2 Cambridge Judge alumni trekked 121 km across the Gobi Desert in the inaugural Will of Nature – Gobi to West Friendship Race alongside 800+ business professionals. In mixed-school teams with CEIBS peers, they endured sandstorms and scarce resources to sweep the top medals. This non-profit event fused endurance, leadership and cross-cultural collaboration.
