Faculty member from Cambridge Judge Business School shares his knowledge at the 2012 Academy of Management Conference
Dr Kamal Munir, Reader in Strategy and Policy at Cambridge Judge Business School, has joined fellow senior scholars to play an active part in this year’s Academy of Management Conference in Boston, which was held between 3 and 7 August.
As part of the OMT Junior Faculty Consortium on 3 August, Dr Munir was invited to coach junior faculty members from around the world and to offer developmental feedback on their research. The purpose of the workshop was to help participants learn how to prosper in their academic career by interacting with senior colleagues and their peers and by participating in panels, roundtable discussions and informal conversations.
Dr Munir was also invited to speak on a select panel on Methodological Choices and Theoretical Developments in Institutional Theory on 4 August. He joined a set of scholars from a range of diverse disciplinary backgrounds and used examples from his own research to reflect on the interrelations between methodology and theory. Finally Dr Munir was also involved in facilitating a Professional Development Workshop on Inequality.
He commented:
I have always found working with graduate students and junior faculty to be a very rewarding and fulfilling experience. Being asked to do what I enjoy is not only flattering but also great fun!”
