Mark de Rond and Anton Wright talk for the first time about their record-breaking row along the navigable waters of the River Amazon, a journey in excess of 2,000 miles. They survived storms, massive river barges, and were forced to row 24 hours a day because of shipping and bureaucratic hold-ups in Peru.
They are now planning their next challenge, another unsupported row the length of Europe’s longest river, the Volga. In time, that will be followed by the Nile and the Mississippi.
