How did you benefit from the programme and how is it helping you today?
“I loved every minute of the programme. What a fantastic opportunity to understand the theory and practice of entrepreneurship, to experience the Cambridge life (day and night!) and to build strong relationships with talented people from all over the world. We all benefitted from a great range of thought-provoking experts in their field – from the academic side, from experienced investors and from serial entrepreneurs. I would do it all again, but I am too busy now growing the businesses which came out of my time in Cambridge.”
Biography
Helen is CEO and co-founder of Nicholson McBride Fisher – one of Europe’s leading business psychology learning and development providers. The Nicholson McBride Fisher team has worked in over 300 organisations across all sectors in 24 different countries (including one quarter of the UK FTSE Top 100). Helen has a background in business psychology; over the last 25 years, she has led long-term, in-depth projects across the UK, Europe and globally, with a wide variety of clients. She has a track record of achieving measurable results and has done this by:
- coaching and mentoring top team members, including two-star and one-star generals, CEOs from banks to digital startups, senior civil servants, senior partners of international law firms, presidents of European manufacturing businesses, and many more
- devising and implementing national and global programmes on career guidance, change management, communication, cross-selling, customer focus, interpersonal skills, interview skills, management and leadership skills, personal effectiveness, team performance and many more
- developing people in the skills they need for their next role, helping them to succeed once they start and helping them with their own succession planning.
Helen also owns a property development company – her portfolio includes single lets and serviced accommodation in London and Cornwall, plus commercial conversion developments for serviced accommodation and new-build lodges in the North East. Previous development experience includes conversions in conservation areas and Grade II listed properties. Her support team includes professionals from architecture, construction, sourcing, finance, tax, legal, marketing, admin and cleaning.
Helen studied at the Universities of Cambridge (graduating top of her year) and Bristol. She has an MSc in Organisational Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship, is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society.
