Ideabatic, whose founder Kitty Liao is a current student of the Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship (PGDE) programme at Cambridge Judge, was granted a £25,000 prize by MassChallenge partner ViiV Healthcare. Ideabatic was founded last year to develop “last-mile” vaccine delivery systems with cooling capacity, in order to help humanitarian problems affecting infants and children. The PGDE is managed by the Entrepreneurship Centre at Cambridge Judge.

The Hearts Milk Bank CIC, which is supported by Cambridge Social Ventures at Cambridge Judge, was a £10,000 Gold Winner at the MassChallenge UK competition. The venture, co-founded by Dr Natalie Shenker and Gillian Weaver, aims to provide a consistent source of safe, screened donor breast milk to neonatal units across London and the southeast of England. Cambridge Social Ventures is part of the Cambridge Centre for Social Innovation at the School.

MassChallenge UK, an accelerator programme that aims to support startups “as they grow their businesses and solve some of the world’s biggest problems”, has received more than 1,300 applications from 76 countries over the past year.
