Idea
North Herts Emotional Support in Schools Service (NESSie) promotes positive emotional and mental health in schools through recognition, effective management and early intervention. They offer arts therapies and counselling to children and young people in education and support and training via forums to staff and families. They current work with 0-18 year old children across Hertfordshire, with a dedicated team of arts therapists and Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme (CYP IAPT) counsellors providing group and one-to-one support to students with additional needs. NESSie is a member of the London and South East Learning Collaborative – part of the CYP IAPT national transformation programme.

NESSie was setup in response to the ever-increasing numbers of children and young people who in crisis with their mental health and our mission is to work in partnership with outside agencies; families and young people to increase access to effective therapeutic support.
