Congratulations to Cambridge Judge alumnus Tom Ransley, who won a gold medal in the men’s eight at the Rio Olympics on Saturday 13 August.
This is the first time the men’s eight has won a gold medal since 2000. Leading throughout the race, the British world champions beat Germany who won silver and the Netherlands who won bronze.
Now in his eighth season with the senior GB men’s heavyweight squad, Tom has previously won a bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games, two World Championship titles and European gold.
Tom studied in the Management Studies Tripos class of 2008. Last year he gave a masterclass to the MPhil in Management students, during which he talked about the leadership skills, philosophy and motivation that drives an Olympian and world champion.
