The Cambridge MBA employment report 2020 has been released.
The latest Cambridge MBA 2020 employment report, just published, has revealed that 96 per cent of job seekers from the 2018/19 class made a switch of either country, job function or industry sector in their post-MBA employment, with 43 per cent switching all three – the “triple jump”.
The annual report details the outcomes of the graduating MBA class of 2018/19, with 94 per cent of job seekers receiving job offers three months out, and sixteen members of the class starting their own company straight out of the MBA.
Mobility after the MBA for graduates is strong, with alumni from the MBA 2018/19 class now working in 28 different countries around the world, with over half of the class (54 per cent) choosing to continue their careers in the UK.
Margaret O’Neill, Head of Admissions and Careers for the Cambridge MBA, says:
“We are proud to celebrate the success of our MBA 2018 class. Global mobility resulting from the MBA is reflected in the diversity of employers that our graduates choose to work for. The most popular global post-MBA employers of the class were from the tech sector, featuring employers such as Amazon and Google. The financial sector held strong with global firms like Deloitte represented, alongside the consultancy sector with companies like McKinsey & Company and Genpact recruiting a group.”
Margaret continues:
“We live in challenging times, as the current global conditions demonstrate. Our demanding, innovative and experiential MBA prepares our students to navigate an uncertain world and successfully manage their future careers. We continue to work with our students, employers and alumni to ensure we offer the unrivalled opportunities for networking and learning that have allowed the class of MBA 2018 to develop the resilience, creativity and experience to achieve their career goals”.
“Recruiters from across the world maintain a strong relationship with the Cambridge MBA, working with us to identify the talent needed to drive global business. Over 100 organisations recruited from the class of 2018, with 29 per cent of the class moving into consulting roles and 22 per cent into roles in the finance sector. Almost half of the class moved into roles in industry, with over 70 per cent of those roles in the technology/internet/e-commerce sector. This reflects the global growth in the technology sector, and Cambridge Judge Business School’s unique place at the heart of one the most successful technology clusters in Europe”.
As part of the Cambridge MBA, students undertake a career development programme alongside their studies, during which they work closely with the MBA Careers team to create a personalised plan based on career aspirations. The programme includes practical workshops, coaching, as well as recruitment and networking events with employers.
