Cambridge Judge to participate at Sanya Forum in China, looking at SME growth, global education and women and innovation.
The Dean and other delegates from Cambridge Judge Business School will participate in the Sanya Forum in China 11-13 December, where the theme of this year’s event is “New Economy, New Momentum.”
The China Advisory Council (CAC) of Cambridge Judge will also meet during the Forum, held in Sanya, Hainan Province, which will look at such issues as slower growth in emerging economies, the impact of a strong US dollar and weak global trade growth.
Cambridge Judge Dean Christoph Loch will moderate a workshop on small and medium-sized enterprise growth and competitiveness, which will examine the challenges faced by SMEs including access to capital and how they can break through the “size barrier.”
The panel includes Wang Boming, Chairman of SEEC Media Group and Editor-in-Chief of Caijing Magazine; Wang Jianzhou, president of the China Association of Public Companies and former chairman of China Mobile; Chou Chun-Chi, chairman of Sinyi Realty Inc.; Sir James Mirrlees, Nobel Laureate in Economics and Fellow of Trinity College, University of Cambridge; and Daniel He, Secretary General of the Cambridge Judge China Advisory Council and President of Equitile.
Dame Sandra Dawson, KPMG Professor Emeritus of Management Studies and former Dean at Cambridge Judge, will participate in a panel on “Women and Innovation,” which will look at how more women are engaging in entrepreneurship and innovation. According to the All China Women’s Federation, women now account for 45 per cent of China’s working population, 11 per cent of the self-employed and a quarter of entrepreneurs.
A panel on “Aligning Education in China with Global Education” will include Nathalie Walker, Director of External Affairs at Cambridge Judge. The panel will discuss how Asia has become a new destination of international students, and how this affects national education policy and allocation of educational resources.
