EnterpriseTECH PhD+

This new stream of EnterpriseTECH has been created in response to a rising demand for innovation and entrepreneurship training across the University of Cambridge. We are launching it in September 2018. This programme is specifically for PhD students, postdocs and research-focussed University of Cambridge staff. All participants that successfully complete the programme are awarded a Cambridge Judge Business School Certificate of Completion.

EnterpriseTECH equips scientifically-minded students with a commercial awareness of entrepreneurship. It changes how you see your own work and the work of others by giving you an eye for innovation. It should be beneficial for anyone thinking of working in the startup sector. Many graduates are now shunning the traditional large graduate employers in favour of science and tech SMEs.
Clement Moylan, Department of Physics, EnterpriseTECH student, 2018

Working with colleagues around the University, we are able to offer the following underwritten places:

  • 40 places for EPSRC-funded PhD students from across the School of Physical Sciences and School of Technology.
  • 20 places for PhDs and postdocs from across the School of Biological Sciences whose research falls under the BBSRC remit.
  • six places for early career academics and postdocs from across the School of Humanities & Social Sciences.
  • five places for PhD students from across the School of Clinical Medicine.
  • Places for PhD+ applicants from across the School of Arts & Humanities.

Applications are also welcome from other non-EPSRC funded PhD students, postdocs, JRFs and research-focussed University staff. Please ensure the programme fee of £500 can be covered or reimbursed by an appropriate source such as a training budget or departmental funding when you submit your application.

We are offering places for EnterpriseTECH PhD+ on a rolling basis. Shortly after receipt of your application, we will let you know if you have been accepted. This process will continue until the cohort is full. The programme may fill before the deadline for applications on 20 June 2018.
