A newly published book on inclusive innovation, co-edited by Paul Tracey, Professor of Innovation & Organisation at Cambridge Judge Business School, includes articles authored by several Cambridge Judge faculty and other experts.
The Handbook of Inclusive Innovation: The Role of Organizations, Markets and Communities in Social Innovation, published by Edward Elgar Publishing, looks at the “Grand Challenges” of our time including poverty, extreme inequality, hunger and climate change through a social innovation prism.
“Inclusive innovation is the development of new ideas which aspire to create opportunities that enhance social and economic wellbeing for disenfranchised members of society,” says an introductory chapter to the book, co-authored by Paul, entitled “Inclusion and innovation: a call to action”.
“We are hopeful that management researchers, and business scholars more broadly, will adopt an action-oriented approach to their scholarship, and define the success of their work through its social impact outcomes.”
The chapters co-authored by people at Cambridge Judge include:
- “Community social innovation: taking a long view of community enterprise”, co-authored by Dr Neil Stott, Faculty (Reader level) in Management Practice; Dr Michelle Darlington, Head of Knowledge Transfer at the Centre for Social Innovation at Cambridge Judge; and Dr Natalie Slawinski, a Research Fellow at the Centre for Social Innovation.
